Printing of fabrics and textiles
A typical course of this operation consists of the following stages:
1. Preparation of a printing paste from a thickener, dye or pigments and other chemicals
2. Applying paste on a textile product using one of the printing techniques
3. Fixing by drying and thermal treatment with steam or hot air in order to permanently bind the dye to the product
4. Removal of unfixed dye and other chemicals from the product by washing
The following methods are used to print textiles:
Flat film printing
The pattern on the product is created by squeezing the printing paste through a special flat template.
Rotary film printing
In rotary printing, cylindrical templates are used, which enables a continuous printing process. Pastes are fed inside the templates using the so-called squeegee.
